Update on installation

Today is Wednesday and the organ builders are making excellent progress on the installation of the pipes and tuning and voicing, etc. The volunteers have been working diligently alongside them resolving electrical issues, installing supports for the bigger pipes, cleaning, etc. Thanks to all their hard work we are making great strides. It's wonderful to behold after a long wait. Here are some pictures of the work that's been done.

First real sounds!

Northern Organs principals have arrived today and started on the installation of pipes already. They have even managed to produce the first sounds. The Principal 4' is what you should hear. Enjoy. Stay tuned for more updates and progress reports.

It's getting closer!

The excitement is building among the fraternity of organ aficionados in Aldergrove - we are only a week away from the return of Northern Organs to help with the next (and maybe the final stage) of tuning and voicing of the organ. A lot of work has been happening behind the scenes for the past number of weeks especially to get ready for their return. A lot of troubleshooting has taken place in terms of electrical, wind and other aspects of the installation. Local volunteers plus some outside helpers have been very busy with this part of the work and we've been able to resolve a lot of issues. Putting together all of the pieces of a very big project can be a daunting challenge but we're making good progress. We will have the principals at Northern Organs here for a week and we hope they'll make excellent progress with our help and that the organ will finally start to produce sounds that will be pleasing for the accompaniment of the congregation.
SDG. We hope to post some more pictures and video of the work in progress next week.
